MAIN DESCRIPTION
Beautiful medieval castle dating back to the 11th century situated in peaceful and panoramic location, near the small town of Porano, a short distance away from the lovely Orvieto. This fascinating castle used to have traffic-control functions as well as an important defensive role, as it overlooked the ancient Via Cassia (the road connecting Rome to Florence).
Nowadays it is a wonderful property comprising a large farming estate and offering 4 charming and comfortable apartments, 3 of which are in the castle while another one is below the tower of the ancient fortress.
All of the 4 apartments have been recently restored and tastefully furnished. This property also provides a nice shared swimming-pool set below the castle walls as well as spacious outdoor areas which are an ideal setting for weddings and special events.
Distances: Porano with all kinds of shops and mini-market 500 m away, Orvieto with all kinds of shops and a beautiful Dome 8 km, Orvieto Scalo (railway station with daily trains for Rome) 7 km away, Viterbo 50 km, Perugia 85 km away, Assisi 95 km, Rome 130 km away.
At guests’ disposal: large outdoor areas with swimming-pool (5 x 10 m – open from 01/05 to 30/09).
All of the apartments provide Jacuzzi shower or bathtub and hairdryer. Parking within the grounds.
Extra Services: Baby bed available free of charge. Maid service available by arrangement at € 12,- / per hour (payment on the spot).
Upon request it is possible to arrange wine tasting, breakfast and dinner service.
