VILLA MARINA
There is no better place to stay than Villa Marina, a beautiful luxury holiday villa for rent with private pool in Elounda, a town on the north coast of the island of Crete, Greece.
This wonderful villa for rent is located on a hilltop near Mavrikiano and offers fantastic panoramic views of the hills, the sea and the island of Spinalonga.
Villa Marina can comfortably accommodate up to 10 people thanks to its 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. The spaces are spacious and bright. The luxurious Villa is spread over three floors and has an area of 700 square metres.
On the top floor is the master bedroom with private lounge, ensuite bathroom and solarium. A flight of stairs leads down to the second master bedroom with walk-in wardrobe, ensuite bathroom with bathtub and access to the terrace. This room overlooks the corridor that leads to the heart of the house: the living room.
The large living room with its wooden dining table will allow you to spend some excellent time in good company and above all you will enjoy a 360 degree view of the sea of Crete: you will feel like you are on a cruise ship. The kitchen is modern and well equipped: induction cooker, oven, concealed microwave. Nothing is left to chance.
From the kitchen you have access to the terrace with a wooden table where you can enjoy breakfast: the view in the morning is breathtaking. We find it difficult to choose the best area of the house because every space has been cleverly thought out. On the ground floor are the other rooms, with direct access to the pool and the garden.
THE BEACH
Crete is full of magnificent beaches: Balos Lagoon, Elafonissi, you can find all our suggestions here, but if you are looking for a beach only 5 minutes from Villa Marina we have the solution for you.
The beach of Elounda, called Paralia Schisma Elountas, is located 1 kilometre from Villa Marina. The beach is equipped and reservations for umbrellas and sunbeds are not necessary.
The beach can be easily reached by car; parking spaces are free and are located along the road.
During your stay on the beach, we recommend sipping a freshly squeezed juice from one of the bars across the road (ICON Bar also delivers to the beach and the staff is very friendly).
THE DINNER
Elounda is a town full of delicious restaurants that can satisfy all requests: traditional cuisine, fishing, meat, pizza and fusion cuisine.
In this article, we suggest two of our favourite restaurants with a charming atmosphere and delicious food.
For lovers of traditional Greek cuisine, we recommend the restaurant Kanali. Kanali is located right by the sea, and it is possible to dine on the veranda or directly on the sand. The menu is extensive and the staff knowledgeable and courteous. Our advice is to try their starters and their very fresh fish, which you can decide how to cook: grilled, baked or stewed.
The second restaurant we would like to recommend is called Magali Cretan Cooking and is a breath of fresh air for the palate: the basis is Greek cuisine revisited in a modern key by the talented chef. Our suggestion? Leave room for the desserts, the waiters call them 'an experience' and they are totally right. If you love sharing, reserve a place at the convivial table built around a centuries-old olive tree overlooking the sea.
