As soon as you cross the threshold of Villa Kois, the world seems to become lighter. The afternoon light caresses the olive trees, the wind carries the scent of thyme and the sea, and the silence of the Cretan landscape envelops you like an embrace. Then you know: you are not entering a house, but a home – a culture, a family.
Villa Kois – Entrance and olive grove
The tranquil heart of Villa Kois
Villa Kois offers a generous 200 m² of timeless elegance bathed in natural light. With four bedrooms and three bathrooms, it comfortably accommodates up to eight guests, creating an airy, tranquil atmosphere where everyday life slows down.
The interiors radiate warmth and care. On the ground floor, a spacious living area with a fully equipped kitchen (oven, dishwasher, hob, freezer, microwave) invites cooking, lingering, and togetherness. A cozy fireplace adds a welcoming touch, while air-conditioned bedrooms guarantee restful nights. Bright, friendly bathrooms amplify the sense of space. On the first floor, balconies and terraces frame the landscape—a quiet invitation to pause, breathe deeply, and savor the view.
Outside, the private pool with a whirlpool anchors the garden’s vitality: a safely enclosed area for little ones, a sun terrace with sea and hill views, and shaded nooks to relax and unwind.
Relaxation by the pool, surrounded by hills
The Posarelli Way: The subtle art of making guests feel welcome immediately
What makes Villa Kois truly unique isn’t captured by photos. It lives in the gestures of Irene and her family, guardians of an ancient art of authentic hospitality. They are discreet and never intrusive, appearing only when needed—and always with a smile. One day they bring you fresh eggs from the henhouse, another day a tray of freshly baked cakes, or yoghurt with local honey that tastes of sunshine. One evening, without you asking, they prepare a Cretan dinner for you.
“Irene’s generosity was amazing… We were very well looked after.”
This is the Posarelli Way: every villa we select is not merely a place to rest, but an open door to a vibrant culture—an encounter with the people who bring this place to life every day. Travel means discovering new flavors, hearing new voices, and soaking in an atmosphere that lingers long after you depart.
Irene and family – Cretan hospitality
Nature, surroundings and gentle adventure
Villa Kois sits in the charming village of Tzitzifés in the Chania region of Apokoronas. This setting blends rural tranquility with easy access to a wealth of attractions: authentic villages and stunning beaches such as Georgioupolis, Almyrida, and Kalives are just a short drive away.
Useful distances: Fres (tavern and bakery) 2 km; shops 6 km; Chania town ~34 km; airport ~38 km. The area offers the perfect balance of relaxation and discovery—walks, markets, and local taverns—while the villa remains secluded enough to escape daily stress.
Chania and surroundings: the blue of the sea just a few minutes away
A refuge that resonates in your heart
Beyond the city walls lie the golden beaches of Episkopi, the Venetian alleys of Chania and Rethymno, the gorges of Samaria and Imbros, and Lake Kournas with its crystal-clear waters. Inside the walls, you feel that rare, precious feeling of being expected.
And when it’s time to leave, what remains most are the memories of the people who made this house their home for a few days.

In Tuscany, the grape harvest is not merely gathering grapes but a memorable ritual —a land pulsing with life under the heat of the day and the hush of the evening breeze. In September, when summer gives way to autumn, the vineyards bloom into a communal scene where labor, flavors, and beauty converge in a centuries-old narrative.

Yesterday’s Grape Harvest: A Glimpse into the Ancient Beauty of Tuscany
For farmers, the grape harvest marked the year's most anticipated moment: a juncture to reflect on the season—its labor, weather-related risks, and lingering uncertainty—yet crowned by a satisfying sense of accomplishment. Severe weather, from brutal winters to scorching summers or sudden hail, could imperil the harvest as a whole.
Work in the vineyard unfolded through a sequence of tasks: tending the vines, tidying the spaces between the rows, monitoring diseases, and managing weeds. At harvest, wooden tubs, baskets, and vats rode on ox-drawn carts, and at dawn entire families joined in the effort.
In the vineyard, the bunches were cut with scissors or sharp blades, gathered in baskets, and unloaded into vats, then trodden barefoot in tubs. The grape harvest was a shared labor of love, where lunch itself became a ritual as women and families brought food to sustain the day’s work, reinforcing a tradition of conviviality. This is the grape harvest of yesteryear: deep roots, participatory labor, and a memory that continues to inspire visitors to Tuscany seeking authentic wine tourism.
Modern Grape Harvest
The Grape Harvest Today: A Balanced Blend of Tradition and Technology
Harvesting methods have shifted toward mechanisation, ensuring steady quality, rapid picking, and the option to work at night, thereby lowering costs. Pressing is now predominantly mechanical, and technology is playing a larger role in the winery. With precision and safety at the forefront, these innovations optimise time and resources without compromising quality.
Today, winegrowers know that the balance between tradition and innovation is the key to a wine that authentically expresses the characteristics of the area while remaining efficient and responsible. Crushing and pressing can be mechanised, enabling delicate aroma extraction without compromising the wine’s integrity; filtration preserves clarity and organoleptic purity. Harvesters capable of suctioning grapes or shaking branches allow rapid, uniform picking, especially in large vineyards or where weather challenges persist. Technology does not create barriers between the land and those who visit to experience it; instead it safeguards quality from the very start, reducing time and waste without betraying the soul of the countryside.
Tuscan Vineyards
Territory and Taste: The Vital Role of Terroir in Wine Production
The Tuscan climate defines the wine’s character from its roots: sea breezes sweeping the hills modulate summer temperatures, while mild winters and sunny summers nurture slow and controlled ripening.
The vineyards are strategically positioned on sunlit slopes facing east and south, allowing for gradual maturation and balanced acidity. Moderate altitude provides the ideal balance between color, structure, and freshness, while distance from the sea mitigates winds and helps preserve delicate aromas.
The hilly topography, with its micro-zones, yields climatic variations that are valuable for quality: sunlight, filtered by the canopy, shapes complex aromatic profiles, and day–night temperature swings refine tannins and structure. The variety of Tuscan grapes is the key to understanding each vineyard: Sangiovese, heart of Chianti wines, expresses elegance and longevity, while whites such as Trebbiano and Vernaccia offer minerality and liveliness; Vermentino and other native varieties add freshness and savor.
Each vineyard reflects a unique geography, from Chianti to the hills of the Maremma, with different exposures that create distinctive taste profiles tied to the soil. The composition of the soil, whether clayey or sandy, influences the wine’s structure and, in synergy with climate, exposure and variety, helps produce long-lived, aromatic wines.
In Tuscany, viticulture and landscape coexist to tell a story of beauty and terroir, whose deep knowledge, refined over time, allows winemakers to adapt to climate change and offer visitors a panorama of wines that speak of geography, culture, and conviviality—enduring through the years.
Experience the Grape Harvest as a Visitor
Tuscany offers unique opportunities for those who want to immerse themselves in this season and witness the magic of the grape harvest first-hand. Imagine strolling between vine rows bathed in autumnal reds and golds, taking part in a harvest guided by experts who share techniques and trade secrets, and pausing for a meal in a cozy wine cellar where the story of that wine—from grape to glass—is told.
Your visit can unfold into a full-fledged holiday: stay in a rural farmhouse to live the experience from within, observe cellar work, join sensory-led tastings, and rediscover the harmony between land, people, and table. Florence, Europe'S Number One Destination: Discover Why It Is the Ultimate Travel Choice
Florence isn’t just a destination; it’s an invitation to pause, listen, and linger. According to Travel + Leisure in an article published on July 8, 2025, Florence stands as Europe’s top travel pick, beloved by readers who seek beauty and experiences beyond a standard itinerary. For Travel + Leisure subscribers and readers alike, Florence tops the list of favourite European cities. ( 15 Favorite cities in Europe).
The city has long captivated travelers, writers, and poets, offering an inexhaustible source of inspiration and beauty. As Henry James wrote, “Florence is the most beautiful city in the world, a place of infinite inspiration.” It was true for Mark Twain, D. H. Lawrence, Charles Dickens, and many others, who lauded its art, history, and unique charm.
What makes Florence a top travel choice in Europe, and what do travelers love about it?
Florence has long drawn travelers—both past and present—because it embodies a distilled essence of beauty and history spanning centuries, as if the Renaissance were a continuous study in culture. It’s not merely a sight to behold but a destination to feel with every step, where every street invites curiosity and discovery. In the Romantic era, the city’s dense collection of masterpieces, its stone-lined streets, and the sites where art and conversation intertwined drew admirers. The cultural atmosphere—alive in cafés, theatres, and literary salons—paired with a palpable sense of rebirth and memory, rendered Florence a living history workshop. To many, Florence remains an inexhaustible muse, capable of turning any visit into a journey into the soul of Western civilization.
Florence’s masterpieces are still everywhere today: visible on streets, squares, and palaces, and echoed in the courtyards, alleys, and the air that feels steeped in thousand-year memories. Walking the historic center is like strolling through an open-air museum, where every corner tells a story and every photo captures a fragment of perfection. But the city is more than art: Tuscan cuisine, bustling markets, world-renowned shops, secret gardens, and a richly varied cultural calendar all contribute to a destination that satisfies diverse tastes and offers both sensory and intellectual delights at every turn. Summing up Florence’s wonders is a challenge; this must-see list by theme aims to guide while recognizing that any snapshot remains partial and that Florence offers endless paths of discovery.
The Uffizi Gallery
Museums: The Uffizi Gallery
Florence’s art treasures are everywhere, and none stand out more than the Uffizi Gallery. Inaugurated in 1581 and designed by Giorgio Vasari for Cosimo I de’ Medici, the Uffizi is among the world’s most important artistic institutions and helped establish Florence as the Renaissance’s capital of painting. The collection spans masterpieces by Botticelli, Leonardo, Michelangelo, Titian, Raphael, Caravaggio, and Rubens, offering a deep dive into history, religion, and human beauty. For the best experience, book your tickets online to skip the queues and choose morning or late afternoon visits. Plan about 1.5–2 hours for a focused tour, or more if you want to explore in depth. The route begins with iconic works like The Birth of Venus and The Primavera, then moves to less crowded pieces that offer a thoughtful interpretation of the Renaissance.
The Duomo, Giotto's Bell Tower and the Baptistery
Monuments: The Duomo, Giotto's Bell Tower and the Baptistery
Florence’s Cathedral complex is a must-see for any visitor, especially in a single-day itinerary. The Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, crowned by Brunelleschi’s iconic dome, rises above the city alongside Giotto’s Bell Tower and the Baptistery of San Giovanni (The Dome of Florence). This ensemble, the symbol of the Renaissance, dominates Florence’s skyline, and climbing the dome offers a breathtaking view of the historic center. Next to it, Giotto’s Bell Tower dazzles with marble decorations and sweeping city vistas, while the Baptistery captivates with brilliant mosaics and the legendary Porta del Paradiso. Together, they form a seamless itinerary that showcases Florence’s extraordinary art, engineering, and timeless beauty.
The Boboli Gardens
Parks: The Boboli Gardens
Florence’s historic streets invite leisurely discovery, while you’re enjoying an ice cream (Gelateria Grom). Along the way you’ll encounter iconic monuments such as the Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Pitti, the Church of Santa Maria Novella, the Church of Santa Croce, and Palazzo Vecchio. Even admiring them from the outside offers a unique, unforgettable experience. For those who prefer outdoor time, the Boboli Gardens behind the Pitti Palace provide a Renaissance-era park setting with panoramic terraces, statues, fountains, grottoes, and sweeping views of the city. Its avenues, fountains, and hidden corners offer a green, atmospheric retreat ideal for contemplative walks and dramatic city vistas.
The San Lorenzo Market
Cuisine: The San Lorenzo Market
San Lorenzo Market (www.mercatocentrale.it) is one of Florence’s liveliest centers in the heart of the city, located between the SMN railway station and the historic market district. Founded in the 19th century as a food market, today it brings together stalls, shops selling Tuscan specialties, and small workshops where you can feel the air of local tradition. Fruit and vegetable stalls burst with seasonal produce and color, but the true draw is the culinary bounty: cheeses, cured meats, extra-virgin olive oil, truffles, porcini mushrooms, and a wide array of regional specialties such as new olive oil, cantucci biscuits, and local desserts. Nearby shops and taverns offer traditional dishes and authentic tastings, making this area an ideal stop to savor local cuisine in a lively, authentic setting.
Florentine Craftsmanship
Fashion and Shopping: Via de’ Tornabuoni e Oltrarno
Florence fashion is a journey through high-end craftsmanship, textile history, and brands that have shaped the city’s style. Visitors can enjoy luxury boutiques as well as authentic experiences focused on leather, suede, and niche prêt-à-porter. Strolling along Via de' Tornabuoni and the surrounding streets, amid international boutiques and historic ateliers, you’ll feel Florentine elegance and discover the city’s keywords: luxury, craftsmanship, and timeless style. In the Oltrarno district, you’ll find numerous artisan workshops—leather studios, leather goods, jewelry, and bespoke clothing. Visitors can tour ateliers, watch the manufacturing process, and even order unique pieces.
Culture: The Pergola Theatre
Florence’s Teatro della Pergola ( www.teatrodellatoscana.it) is a must-visit cultural landmark in the heart of the city. One of Italy’s oldest and most captivating theatres, it was founded in 1655 at the request of the Medici family. It began as an open-air theatre and over the centuries was transformed and restored, arriving at its current configuration in the 19th century: a grand interior hall, a solid stage, and a stalls area welcoming audiences of all ages. The theatre’s international lineage—hosting artists and companies from across Europe—has helped cement Florence as a cultural hub not only of the Renaissance but also of the contemporary world.

Suspended in the heart of the Mediterranean, Crete and Corfu represent two enchanting faces of Greece. Both captivate with golden beaches, poetic sunsets, and an ancient culture, yet each possesses a distinct identity.
For travellers in search of authenticity, elegance, and timeless beauty, choosing between these two islands becomes a refined dilemma.
In this guide, we explore the nuances of Crete and Corfu to help you choose the perfect destination for your next Posarelli Villas holiday.
Climate and Atmosphere: the rhythm of the seasons
Crete, the southernmost of the Greek islands, boasts a hot and dry climate stretching from late spring to autumn. The atmosphere here is intense, sun-drenched, vibrant – ideal for those who love warmth, dazzling light, and powerful nature.
Corfu, facing the Ionian Sea, welcomes visitors with a milder climate and lush vegetation. Its air is velvety, its scents more humid, and hills of olive trees and cypresses create a gentle landscape. Time seems to pass here with aristocratic elegance.
Dream Beaches: the luxury of nature
Crete enchants with an extraordinary variety of beaches: the turquoise waters of Balos lagoon, the pink sands of Elafonissi, the wild expanses of the south. It’s a perfect destination for those who love to explore and be awed by breathtaking views.
To enjoy these wonders in complete exclusivity, Villa Lucy in Plataniás is a true gem: an infinity pool overlooking the sea and designer interiors immersed in nature.
Corfu, on the other hand, seduces with hidden coves, romantic cliffs, and crystal-clear waters. Paleokastritsa is a sublime example of harmony between rock and sea. If you’re seeking privacy and timeless beauty, Villa Sunset in Ágios Ilías offers a secluded panoramic setting, perfect for couples or families looking for exclusive relaxation.
Culture and History: between myth and civilisation
Crete is the epicentre of Minoan civilisation. The Palace of Knossos, Byzantine monasteries, and Venetian cities such as Rethymno and Chania narrate a millennia-old history. Here, culture is tangible and enveloping.
To immerse yourself in this timeless atmosphere, stay at Villa Despanto in Litsárdha: an authentic traditional home tastefully restored, nestled among olive groves and silence.
Corfu, by contrast, is a refined cultural mosaic. Its cosmopolitan past – under Venetian, French and British rule – has left fascinating traces in the old town, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Wide squares, seafront fortresses and elegant arcades evoke a bygone era.
Family Experiences: comfort and wonder
Crete offers a wide range of activities for all ages. From hikes through the Samaria Gorge to well-equipped beaches, water parks, and picturesque villages – each day brings a new adventure, without compromising on comfort.
If you’re travelling with family and seeking space, nature, and privacy, Villa Silentium Ionia in Káto Póros is the ideal choice: spacious interiors, a private pool, and a strategic location to explore the island.
Corfu, more compact and intimate, is perfect for families seeking peaceful moments. The waters are calm and safe, and boat trips to uninhabited islets add a touch of magic. Villa Sunset and Villa Cocona, with their private gardens and sea views, offer secure and relaxing settings for all ages.
Signature Gastronomy: authentic flavours and local sophistication
In Crete, cuisine is a core part of local identity. Mountain cheeses, flavourful meats, wild herbs, and the famous Cretan olive oil take centre stage in a culinary tradition that is both genuine and refined. At restaurants near Posarelli villas, such as those around Villa Lucy or Villa Despanto, you can savour bold flavours in panoramic settings.
Corfu, in contrast, delights with a cuisine of Venetian and aristocratic influence. Dishes like sofrito, bourdeto and pastitsada tell the story of the island through bold and elegant tastes. Near Villa Cocona, family-run restaurants turn every meal into a cultural experience.
Luxury Villas: a tailor-made retreat
With Posarelli Villas, your stay becomes a journey into discreet luxury and authentic beauty.
In Crete, our residences are set in spectacular landscapes. From the breathtaking views of Villa Lucy, to the rural tranquillity of Villa Despanto, and the spacious Villa Silentium Ionia – each property blends traditional architecture with modern comfort, offering privacy and style.
In Corfu, villas such as Villa Sunset and Villa Cocona embody the island’s relaxed elegance: fragrant gardens, curated interiors, and exclusive views over the Ionian Sea. Every detail is designed to create a refined, timeless atmosphere.
Getting There: accessibility and discretion
Crete is served by two international airports, Heraklion and Chania, with direct flights from major European cities. Thanks to its size, the island is perfect for explorers: the road network is efficient and well organised.
Corfu, being more compact, is easily reached via its international airport, especially active in summer. It is the ideal destination for those seeking a relaxing holiday surrounded by greenery and the beauty of the Ionian.
Crete or Corfu? The elegance of a conscious choice
Choose Crete if you desire a broad-ranging experience steeped in deep history, wild nature, and endless possibilities.
Choose Corfu if you seek harmony, discreet charm, and a slower pace, wrapped in the classical beauty of the Ionian landscape.
Whatever your choice, Posarelli Villas is your trusted partner for experiencing Greece at its most exclusive. Our hand-picked properties offer more than just a stay: they provide emotion, silence, and elegance.

Montalcino: Brunello Wine, History and Art
Montalcino: A Journey Through History and Wine
Montalcino is a picturesque medieval town located on a hilltop in the heart of Tuscany. The town is known for its rich history, scenic landscape, and – not least – its world-renowned wine, Brunello di Montalcino. Visiting Montalcino is like traveling back in time while experiencing some of Italy's best wines and culinary delights.
Montalcino traces its roots back to Etruscan times, but it was during the Middle Ages that the town truly flourished as an important fortified city in the region. In the 14th century, Montalcino was often at the center of conflicts between Siena and Florence, both vying for control of the strategically important town. Today, visitors can still see the well-preserved city walls and the fortress "La Fortezza," built in 1361, a testament to Montalcino's war-torn past. From the fortress, you can enjoy stunning views of the rolling hills of Val d'Orcia, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Brunello di Montalcino – A World-Class Wine
No mention of Montalcino is complete without talking about Brunello di Montalcino, one of Italy's most prestigious wines. This powerful red wine is made exclusively from Sangiovese grapes, locally known as "Brunello." The wine production here is subject to strict regulations, and the wine must be aged for at least five years, with at least two of those years in oak barrels, before it can be sold. This gives Brunello its complex, full-bodied flavor with aromas of dark fruits, spices, and earthy tones.
Montalcino is surrounded by many renowned wineries offering visitors the opportunity to explore the vineyards and participate in wine tastings. Here are some of the most famous:
Biondi-Santi: This is the winery considered to be the birthplace of Brunello di Montalcino. Biondi-Santi has a long history and has been crucial in the development of the now world-famous Brunello wine.
Banfi: Castello Banfi is not only a winery but also a stunning castle. It is one of the largest producers in the region, known for its innovative approach to winemaking and a wide range of wines, including Brunello.
Casanova di Neri: One of the most prestigious wineries in Montalcino, Casanova di Neri has received many international accolades for its wines. Their Brunello has been recognized as one of the world's best wines by renowned wine critics.
Poggio Antico: Located at one of the highest points in Montalcino, this winery is known for its elegant Brunello. The estate offers guided tours that provide insights into both winemaking and the area's history.
A typical wine tasting in Montalcino often includes both Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montalcino, a younger and lighter wine perfect for immediate enjoyment. Many wineries also offer guided tours, where you can learn about the entire production process, from grape harvesting to bottling.
Sights in Montalcino
In addition to the wine experiences, Montalcino also boasts many cultural and historical sights worth exploring. Here are some highlights:
La Fortezza: The old fortress, built in 1361, is an impressive sight and a must for history enthusiasts. From the top of the fortress walls, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape.
Piazza del Popolo: The town's central square, surrounded by medieval buildings, is a great place to experience Montalcino's charming atmosphere. Here you'll also find the Palazzo dei Priori, a historic town hall with a slender clock tower.
Sant'Antimo Abbey: Just outside the town lies this magnificent Romanesque abbey, dating back to the 8th century. It is said that Charlemagne founded the abbey, and it is known for its simple yet impressive architecture and the Gregorian chants often performed here.
Museo Civico e Diocesano: For art lovers, this museum is a must. It houses an impressive collection of religious art, including works from the Sienese school, which dominated the region during the Middle Ages.
Whether you're a history enthusiast, wine lover, or simply want to experience the beauty of Val d'Orcia in Tuscany, Montalcino has something to offer. The town's unique blend of culture, nature, and exceptional wine makes it an unforgettable destination.
Take your time exploring the cobblestone streets, enjoy a glass of Brunello at a local winery, and let yourself be charmed by the authentic Tuscan atmosphere that Montalcino has to offer.

The Story of Villa Sonia: a Tuscan Gem of Elegance and Tradition
Nestled in the heart of Chianti, Villa Sonia is more than just a property—it’s a timeless blend of history, art, and hospitality. Located just 1 km from the charming medieval town of San Donato in Poggio, the villa was initially acquired as a result of the previous owners’ meticulous renovation efforts. It felt like a rare opportunity to preserve and enhance its beauty, and we saw the potential to transform it into the enchanting retreat it is today. Now, with the perfect combination of tradition and modernity, we welcome guests to experience the quintessential Tuscan lifestyle.
A Hidden Gem with a Unique Location
Situated between Florence and Siena, Villa Sonia offers guests a prime location for exploring Tuscany’s cultural treasures. Its proximity to renowned destinations like San Gimignano and Greve in Chianti means that guests can enjoy the best of Tuscany within a short drive. The villa’s surroundings, with vineyards, olive groves, and rolling hills, create a peaceful haven that feels remote yet remains connected to the region’s vibrant heritage.
A Fusion of Tradition and Modernity
The villa’s interiors reflect our passion for merging tradition with contemporary design. Inspired by the art and architecture of Florence and Siena, each room is a blend of classic Tuscan style—think exposed beams and handmade terracotta floors—with sleek, modern amenities. The result is a sophisticated yet inviting ambiance that honors the past while providing the comforts of today.
The Beauty Lies in the Details
Among the many unique features, we are particularly fond of the colorful handmade terracotta flooring, selected to complement the villa’s warm tones. One of our favorite pieces is a beautifully restored storage cabinet on the ground floor, a piece with elegant lines and historical charm. Each space has been carefully curated to reflect the region’s artistic flair.
The Heart of the Home: A Terrace with a View
The villa’s terrace, overlooking the verdant landscape, is where we start our mornings with coffee and end our evenings with a glass of Chianti. It’s an enchanting spot that captures the essence of Tuscan living—serene, scenic, and perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. Guests often mention this terrace as their favorite area, where every sunset feels like a private spectacle.
What to Expect as Our Guest
Our villa offers a unique layout that includes a main building, a separate apartment, and two additional units, making it perfect for groups seeking a combination of shared spaces and privacy. Each area has been thoughtfully designed to cater to both intimate gatherings and quiet moments of solitude. Whether it’s cooking together in the spacious kitchen or retreating to a quiet corner to read, guests can enjoy the villa at their own pace.
One Delightful Surprise Awaits
We love surprising our guests, but revealing too much would spoil the fun! Let’s just say that wine enthusiasts will be thrilled to find a small yet exceptional wine cellar featuring selections from our friends. It’s one of those hidden gems that adds a touch of exclusivity and joy to the stay. As we like to say: if we told you everything, where would the surprise be?

Do you think that saving money on your holiday necessarily means giving up fun and relaxation? We disagree!By following these tips you can enjoy a wonderful summer holiday without emptying your wallet. Happy reading and have a great trip!
With these simple but effective tips, we want to overturn all popular beliefs and give you effective advice on how to save money when you book your holiday.
NEWSLETTER1. Sign up for newsletters: very often people tend to think that newsletters only serve to fill the mailbox with spam messages, without any utility. For Posarelli Villas this is not the case!
By clicking on the popup that appears as soon as you enter our site you can subscribe to the newsletter to receive our discount codes. Almost monthly we send last minute offers, promotions to use in our Villas and discount codes. For example, for the whole month of May we have created a code valid on all the properties in our programme!
TOURISTIC BUT NOT TOO MUCH2. Choose destinations that are not too touristy: when one speaks of Greece, one immediately thinks of the whitewashed streets of Mykonos, but for some years now the prices have been exorbitant. With much lower prices and more authentic experiences to offer are the islands of Crete and Corfu. Book one of our villas to discover the real Greece and bathe in pristine crystal-clear waters. Are you also interested in nightlife? Both islands offer plenty of alternatives for your evenings out: from seaside clubs in Ipsos to typical bars in Chania.
LOCAL AGENCIES NO PORTALS3. Steer clear of portals: Airbnb and Booking are the most popular tools for short-term rentals, but did you know that prices are at least 15% higher? By booking your villa directly with us, you will be able to save a fair amount of money. In addition, our team is always available to guide you in your choice and answer all your questions.
FLEXIBILITY4. Flexible dates: prices vary depending on the season, usually in low season you can find prices discounted by almost 50% and take advantage of the calm and tranquillity the place has to offer. By avoiding peak periods such as August bank holiday, long weekends and national holidays you will be able to find villas at great prices.
LUNCH AND DINNER5. Food and drink: Eating in restaurants every day can significantly increase the cost of your holiday. Try to save on food and drink by opting for solutions such as chefs on wheels and cooking classes! Now that we have told you all our secrets, all you have to do is book!

Enchanted islands emerge like gems in the Aegean Sea, and among them all, Crete shines with a special light. A land with ancient roots, where myth and history are woven together like threads on the loom of an epic. Throughout the centuries, Crete has been the stage for legends and adventures, and its lands are imbued with an aura of mystery and grandeur. The first traces of human presence on Crete date back to 3000 BC, but it was with the Minoan civilisation that the island was transformed into a jewel of splendour.Today, Crete enchants visitors with its timeless natural beauty. Golden sandy beaches stretch along the coastline, caressed by crystal-clear waters. The interior of the island comes alive with picturesque mountain villages, deep gorges and majestic landscapes.Crete is a place where past and present merge in a magical embrace. The ruins of Minoan palaces stand as silent witnesses to a glorious past, while bustling markets and traditional taverns pulsate with life. The island cradles a rich cultural heritage and an extraordinary natural environment, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in a journey through time.
To touch the shores of Crete is to dance with legend, to traverse the ages and discover the very essence of history. This magical land, nestled in the heart of the Aegean, patiently awaits those who want to lose themselves in its eternal charm.
VILLA MARINAThere is no better place to stay than Villa Marina, a beautiful luxury holiday villa for rent with private pool in Elounda, a town on the north coast of the island of Crete, Greece. This wonderful villa for rent is located on a hilltop near Mavrikiano and offers fantastic panoramic views of the hills, the sea and the island of Spinalonga.Villa Marina can comfortably accommodate up to 10 people thanks to its 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. The spaces are spacious and bright. The luxurious Villa is spread over three floors and has an area of 700 square metres. On the top floor is the master bedroom with private lounge, ensuite bathroom and solarium. A flight of stairs leads down to the second master bedroom with walk-in wardrobe, ensuite bathroom with bathtub and access to the terrace. This room overlooks the corridor that leads to the heart of the house: the living room.
The large living room with its wooden dining table will allow you to spend some excellent time in good company and above all you will enjoy a 360 degree view of the sea of Crete: you will feel like you are on a cruise ship. The kitchen is modern and well equipped: induction cooker, oven, concealed microwave. Nothing is left to chance. From the kitchen you have access to the terrace with a wooden table where you can enjoy breakfast: the view in the morning is breathtaking. We find it difficult to choose the best area of the house because every space has been cleverly thought out. On the ground floor are the other rooms, with direct access to the pool and the garden.
THE BEACHCrete is full of magnificent beaches: Balos Lagoon, Elafonissi, you can find all our suggestions here, but if you are looking for a beach only 5 minutes from Villa Marina we have the solution for you.The beach of Elounda, called Paralia Schisma Elountas, is located 1 kilometre from Villa Marina. The beach is equipped and reservations for umbrellas and sunbeds are not necessary. The beach can be easily reached by car; parking spaces are free and are located along the road.During your stay on the beach, we recommend sipping a freshly squeezed juice from one of the bars across the road (ICON Bar also delivers to the beach and the staff is very friendly).
THE DINNERElounda is a town full of delicious restaurants that can satisfy all requests: traditional cuisine, fishing, meat, pizza and fusion cuisine. In this article, we suggest two of our favourite restaurants with a charming atmosphere and delicious food. For lovers of traditional Greek cuisine, we recommend the restaurant Kanali. Kanali is located right by the sea, and it is possible to dine on the veranda or directly on the sand. The menu is extensive and the staff knowledgeable and courteous. Our advice is to try their starters and their very fresh fish, which you can decide how to cook: grilled, baked or stewed. The second restaurant we would like to recommend is called Magali Cretan Cooking and is a breath of fresh air for the palate: the basis is Greek cuisine revisited in a modern key by the talented chef. Our suggestion? Leave room for the desserts, the waiters call them 'an experience' and they are totally right. If you love sharing, reserve a place at the convivial table built around a centuries-old olive tree overlooking the sea.
